Tehran, Iran – On October 30, the drone challenges at the 2025 Technology Olympiad reached their conclusion at the Iran International Innovation District (IIID), following several days of high-energy simulated and live-flight competitions. Final rankings will be announced today, naming the top team.

Mohammad Razavifard, head of the Olympiad’s drone division, reported that the final simulation rounds and the culminating “Drone Battle” matches had taken place the previous day, with around 30 head-to-head contests among 60 competitors. Simulation rounds began with larger team counts and gradually eliminated contenders until three finalists remained.

In the piloting category, two teams engaged in six flights — three each — on October 29, with the possibility of additional matches between other finalists today before results are finalized. The winning team from these piloting contests will be declared by midday.

Razavifard highlighted that in the group intelligent flight division, 12 flights were conducted yesterday, with “Horizon US” named best performer of the day. At least 10 more flights are scheduled for today to determine overall standings in that category.

The drone segment of the Olympiad showcased advanced maneuvering, tactical simulation, and international talent, contributing to the diverse technological competition landscape at IIID.
