IIID Plays a Key Role in Realizing Iran’s 2025 Production-Driven Development Goals

On April 22, 2025, the First Vice President of Iran visited the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) and emphasized IIID’s pivotal role in achieving the national slogan of “Investment for Production” by supporting the development and export of cutting-edge, knowledge-based products.
Accompanied by the Vice Presidency for Scientific, Technological and Knowledge-Based Economy Affairs and the Governor of Tehran, the First Vice President toured the exhibition of knowledge-based and technological products by Members of IIID. The delegation was introduced to the latest achievements and capabilities in nanotechnology, energy management and cyber security systems, pharmaceuticals, electronics, power industry, engineering services, medical equipment, bone grafts, and industrial and mining machinery.
The visit also included the Iran Health Exhibition, where the First Vice President reviewed domestic capabilities in manufacturing various types of medical equipment and operating room technologies.
Highlighting the ability of Iranian knowledge-based companies to produce and export world-class technological products, he issued directives to address their challenges and facilitate their growth. He stressed that IIID is integral to fulfilling the 2025 national production targets, as the district enables both hardware and software innovation, especially in software development and the export of advanced engineering and technology services.
The First Vice President underlined that the government’s main strategy is to empower scientific institutions and the private sector, leveraging their strengths for self-reliance and regional market expansion—specifically targeting the 300-million population regional market. He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting industrial activities of innovative and knowledge-based companies, emphasizing that backing the innovation ecosystem and high-tech industries is a national priority.
He concluded that while Iran needs to bridge gaps in classic technologies, it can lead in high-tech sectors such as nanotechnology, information technology, and artificial intelligence, building on successful experiences and aiming for new achievements in advanced fields.
