Tehran, Iran - Iran’s Deputy Minister of Health for Treatment hailed the 26th Iran Health Exhibition as a testament to the country’s strides in self-sufficiency, innovation, and export potential in health technology.

On June 9, 2025, Dr. Seyed Sajjad Razavi, Deputy Minister of Health for Treatment, visited the 26th Iran Health Exhibition at the Tehran International Exhibition Center and praised the prominent presence of knowledge-based companies and Iranian medical equipment manufacturers. He underscored that this event highlights Iran’s significant progress toward self-reliance and competitiveness in the health sector.

Dr. Razavi stressed the indispensable role of technology in treatment, noting that speed, accuracy, and quality of care depend heavily on advanced equipment alongside skilled professionals. He expressed amazement at the growth of many companies compared to previous years, with some already active in exports, marking a transition from consumption to production and global competition.

Reflecting on past challenges, he recalled how certain medical equipment once entered Iran via travelers’ suitcases, whereas today, those same tools are produced domestically with superior quality—a true sign of remarkable growth. He identified increasing the share of Iranian equipment in national healthcare and reducing import dependency as key future goals, asserting that many domestic products now approach global standards and could meet national needs with proper support and fair competition.

Additionally, Dr. Razavi highlighted the media’s critical role in publicizing these advancements to instill hope, build trust among physicians, and showcase Iran’s scientific prowess globally. He also noted the return of elite Iranians from abroad to lead many of these companies, suggesting that sustaining this trend could strengthen reverse migration and harness talent for Iran’s development. The exhibition runs until June 10, 2025.
