Oman’s delegation seeks to expand technology cooperation with Iran during the 2025 Technology Olympiad.
Omani Team Leader Impressed by Iran’s AI Advancement at 2025 Technology Olympiad
Tehran, Iran – Hanan Hamed Alshukail, head of Oman’s delegations at the 2025 Technology Olympiad, said on October 30 at the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) that Iran’s achievements in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity exceeded her expectations, describing the event as a valuable platform for bilateral technological cooperation.
Alshukail, representing the Kobi Academy of Oman, which specializes in technology and AI, attended IIID as supervisor of all Omani teams participating in the Olympiad. She stated that Oman’s main objective in joining the event was to foster collaboration and interaction with Iran in advanced technology fields, adding that the competition offered a unique opportunity to explore Iran’s capabilities and build scientific and technical ties between the two countries.
Reflecting on her visit, she remarked that while she had heard from fellow Omanis about Iranian hospitality and cuisine — which she confirmed as excellent upon arrival — she was surprised by Iran’s high level of technological progress, particularly in AI and cybersecurity. Tours of various exhibition sections left her “amazed” at the strength of Iranian tech companies and the quality of innovation on display.
She praised the Olympiad’s organization, noting that it brought together participants from multiple countries, elevating its importance beyond a national event. “We enjoyed the experience and gained valuable insights,” she concluded.
