Three-drone synchronized flights take center stage at the 2025 Technology Olympiad’s UAV competition.
Day Three at 2025 Technology Olympiad Showcases Exciting Triple-Drone Flights
Tehran, Iran – The third day of the 2025 Technology Olympiad’s UAV competition featured the highly anticipated “three-drone” segment, with 14 teams demonstrating precision, coordination, and autonomous flight capabilities under competitive conditions.
Organizers reported that each team was granted two 30-minute flight windows, with flexible scheduling options to perform synchronized missions. Yesterday’s events included 12 drone combat matches with 24 participants, six piloting and display flights, and multiple simulation challenges, such as autonomous group formations led by an AI “leader” drone and coordination between simulators during flight.
In the hardware division, 14 competition flights and about 20 pre-competition test runs were carried out. Some teams faced technical issues, causing flight delays; two teams completed solo intelligent flights early today before moving to the triple-drone stage.
Simulation scenarios tested the ability to launch automatically, follow predefined conical flight paths, and maintain communications throughout the mission. Teams faced elimination for any crash or inability to complete objectives, adding intensity to an already high-stakes arena.
The UAV competition at the Technology Olympiad continues to highlight advanced autonomous systems, combining precision engineering with real-time control, and pushing the limits of aerial innovation.
