By signing MoU between Post Bank of Iran and High Technology Development Fund:
Ground Paved for Supplying Capital for Knowledge-Based Companies in ICT Field
Grounds have been paved for knowledge-based companies in the field of information technology after signing a memorandum of understanding on developing bilateral cooperation between Post Bank of Iran and High Technology Development Fund.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Deputy ICT Minister for Technology and Innovation, the CEO of Iran Post Bank, the CEO of High Technology Development Fund, and a group of senior officials.
Addressing the event, Deputy ICT Minister for Technology and Innovation said Both Post Bank of Iran and the High Technologies Development Fund have an effective history in financing the technology sector, and the MoU can create greater synergy between these two institutions.
Thanks to the importance of the export sector and signing MoU worth more than 50 million dollars during the recent trip of the ICT ministry officials to Russia, he said that it is a good opportunity to export knowledge-based products to Russia.
Meanwhile, CEO of Post Bank of Iran Behzad Shiri said Post Bank of Iran has tried to provide banking services based on information technology, especially in rural areas.
As financial suppliers, banks are always looking for which economic sectors have the ability to grow. Therefore, they always reduce their share in a declining economic sector, he added.
In the meantime, CEO of High Technology Development Fund Roohollah Mir Amini described the interaction between Post Bank of Iran and the High Technologies Development Fund as a "strategic partnership", saying: This partnership is desirable for financing the technology sector and achieving a knowledge-based economy, because Post Bank of Iran was the first bank that had accepted the High Technologies Development Fund guarantee.
He referred to investment experience as other activities of the High Technology Development Fund, saying that the body has experience in investing in startups, accelerators, VC funds, and funds of funds.
He expressed hope that the set of fund services and MoUs between the High Technology Development Fund and Post Bank of Iran and Payam International Airport can cover the financing of companies, especially in the field of ICT.
