Massive Global Coverage of Iran’s TechOlympics at IIID

The second Iran TechOlympics, held at the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) and Pardis Technology Park with participation from technology elites from 65 countries, has attracted unprecedented attention from international media, cementing Iran’s position as a leading tech hub in the Middle East.

The 2025 Iran TechOlympics brought over 12,000 innovators and researchers from 65 countries to the Iran International Innovation District and Pardis Technology Park, creating a global showcase of the nation’s technological capacity.

More than 120 journalists, photographers, and videographers covered the event, with 50 prominent media outlets from over 20 countries across five continents publishing reports, images, and analyses.

Major outlets such as AFP, France24, RFI, Monte Carlo Doualiya, TV5Monde, Al-Monitor, Barron’s, The Penn, Swissinfo, The National Times, Techxplore, eNCA, Peninsula, Gulf Times, The Times Kuwait, Taipei Times, BD-Pratidin, Myanmar iTV, Malay Mail, NAMPA, and Getty Images featured extensive coverage. France24 described it as “the largest gathering of tech elites in the Middle East,” while Al-Monitor called it “a symbol of Iran’s technological leap despite sanctions.” Media teams from AFP, RT, China’s Xinhua, Lebanese Al-Manar, and TV networks from Qatar and Iraq were present onsite, producing reports on competitions in combat robotics, AI systems, drones, and cybersecurity. The international coverage reached millions worldwide via TV broadcasts and digital platforms. Iran’s international-language media, including Press TV, Hispan TV, Iran Press, Al-Alam, and Tehran Times, also covered the event in multiple languages. The broad media presence showcased Iran’s growing influence in global technology and innovation ecosystems.
