Three Innovative, Creative Products Unveiled

Three innovative and creative products in the fields of medicine, robotics, and plastic industries were unveiled at the opening ceremony of INOTEX 2024.

The inauguration ceremony was held in the presence of Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi and Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation Science and Technology Development of Zimbabwe, Amon Murwira.

Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) was produced by Sepanta Pishe Pasargad Company.

These products are used in automobile, shoe, sports equipment, glue and industrial parts industries as raw materials for the production of special parts.

Thermoplastic polyurethane, known as TPU in the industry, is a versatile elastomer with unique properties that include high elasticity as well as high mechanical strength.

This material is an engineering elastomer thermoplastic that can be soft and flexible like rubber, while it can be processed by common methods such as plastics.

TPUs have very high and tensile strength, as well as wear resistance, which is several times higher than conventional thermoplastics.

To produce this product, a reactive extrusion (Reactive Extruder) and complex reactors are needed to synthesize polyols (soft part) first, and then in a reactive extruder with the hard part.

This product has no domestic manufacturer, and its various grades are imported from China, Italy, Turkey, and Germany for various applications, including high pressure hoses (pneumatic), auto parts (dust collectors), industrial adhesives, and many other industrial applications.

In 1401, about 700,000 kilograms of these materials were imported to the country.
