President of Pardis Technology Park Mahdi Saffari Nia said that some 1,737 products were commercialized in Pardis Technology Park.

Speaking in an interview with Farheekhtegan newspaper, Saffari Nia described improving the activity in the knowledge-based market as the main challenge of these companies, saying more than 8 million Euros worth of products were exported by the knowledge-based park companies in 1399.

Elaborating on the current situation of the knowledge-based companies in Iran, he said, we faced a wave of science production twenty years ago in Iran, that is, the first surge in the country was in scientific field, which was accompanied by scientific acceleration.

The current statistics of the Vice Presidency for Science also show the large development chart of knowledge-based and creative companies.

Today, about 90 accelerators have been established under the Acceleration and Innovation Center, all of which are certified, he noted.

In the third step, Pardis Technology Park put on its agenda developing shared workspace and about 30 complexes were formed in the acceleration and innovation center, Saffari Nia said.

The Iranian technology and innovation ecosystem, with the presence of knowledge-based and creative companies, technology parks, growth centers, accelerators, investment complexes, etc., created a mature ecosystem which is unique among neighboring states, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he highlighted the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iran Trade Promotion Organization and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade in creating a professional base aiming to reduce costs of developing market.

He noted that over 370 knowledge-based and innovative companies are present in Pardis Technology Park ecosystem.

In response to a question on Pardis Technology Park’s sales Saffari Nia said it has experienced 38% growth.

He noted that Pardis Technology Park has also experienced increase in the number of staff from 1,500 people to 7300 ones.

Commenting on Pardis Technology Park’s exports, he said it has exported over €300m worth of products to 23 countries.

He referred to medical, electronic and tele-communication and pharmaceutical equipment as examples of the exporting items.

He noted that Iraq, Turkey, Russia, India and China have had the most volume of imports from Pardis Technology Park respectively.

Elaborating on Pardis Technology Park’s interactions with other countries, he said that the memorandums of understanding, which are usually negotiated with foreign parties and sometimes even signed, are an important aspect of the transfer of experience in the field of creating and development.

He pointed to the latest MoU with Uzbekistan, saying that the second group of agreements aiming to establish joint cooperation between Pardis Technology Park member companies and foreign parties so that they can cooperate with each other in the field of technology exchange or in production of joint products and exports.
