On September 3, 2026, at INOTEX 2026, Alireza Khakdaman, CEO of Barakat Knowledge-Based Institute, announced the evaluation of 1,000 billion IRR in investment proposals. The institute connected with over 100 startups and is assessing 70 social innovation projects to drive open innovation.

During the Iran International Innovation & Technology Exhibition (INOTEX), the Barakat Knowledge-Based Institute outlined its dual strategic focus: investing in early-stage startups entering the knowledge-based ecosystem, and leveraging open innovation to resolve industrial and social challenges.

According to the INOTEX 2026 News Center, the institute's active participation yielded significant quantitative milestones and strategic alignments:

  • Startup Engagement: Established initial contact with over 100 new startups to explore potential investment pathways.
  • Social Innovation Pipeline: Received and currently evaluating approximately 70 distinct social innovation projects aimed at addressing challenges in underprivileged regions.
  • Capital Under Evaluation: Currently assessing investment proposals totaling nearly 1,000 billion IRR (equivalent to 100 billion Tomans).
  • Existing Social Investment Portfolio: Showcased ongoing social investment plans valued at approximately 200 billion IRR, with intentions to expand this footprint through newly identified ideas.

Khakdaman emphasized that the institute's mission extends beyond direct funding. By acting as a governmental facilitator, the organization aims to bridge the gap between technological capacity and real-world industrial or societal needs, ensuring that the innovation ecosystem delivers tangible, scalable solutions for the country.
