Strategic Governance: The Board of Trustees of Pardis Technology Park (PTP)
The Iran International Innovation District (IIID), anchored by Pardis Technology Park (PTP), is governed by a high-level, cross-sectoral Board of Trustees. This structure ensures that the district’s operations remain tightly aligned with national macro-strategies while retaining the agility required to foster market-driven, global-scale innovation.
Board Composition
The Board is strategically composed of both ex-officio (legal) and appointed (natural) members to bridge government policy, academic excellence, and private-sector dynamism:
- Ex-Officio Members: Chaired by the First Vice President of Iran, with the Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy serving as Vice-Chair, and the President of PTP as Secretary. The board also includes key cabinet members (Ministers of Industry, Mining and Trade; Health; and Oil), the Head of the Plan and Budget Organization, the Governor of Tehran, the Head of the Center for Transformation and Progress, the Head of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance, and the President of Sharif University of Technology.
- Appointed Members: 4 to 6 distinguished national figures—including leading academics, industry veterans, and economic development experts—appointed directly by the President for 4-year terms to provide specialized, independent oversight.
Strategic Mandates & Authorities
Empowered by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution and the Ministry of Science, the Board holds ultimate authority over the district’s trajectory. Its core responsibilities include:
- Approving macro-level financial, scientific, and operational policies, as well as comprehensive development and expansion plans.
- Overseeing the annual budget, balance sheets, and revenue allocation, while setting credit limits and appointing independent auditors.
- Establishing regulations for the creation of new tech centers, incubators, and production units within the district.
- Driving initiatives to attract private-sector capital, equipment, and infrastructure investments.
- Monitoring annual performance reports to ensure the district meets its high-impact innovation targets.
