Deputy Minister of Energy Announces New Water and Energy Tech Park at INOTEX 2026

During the Iran International Innovation & Technology Exhibition (INOTEX), the Ministry of Energy outlined its strategy to integrate domestic tech solutions into national infrastructure. According to the INOTEX 2026 News Center, the initiative aims to transition from traditional project assignment to a collaborative model where knowledge-based companies help solve core industry challenges.

Key strategic initiatives and metrics highlighted include:

• Existing Collaboration: Over 1,000 knowledge-based companies currently collaborate with the ministry, with 750 securing direct contracts totaling 120 trillion IRR last year.
• New Technology Park: The recent establishment of the Water and Energy Science and Technology Park to provide specialized logistical support, facilities, and funding for innovative startups.
• Market Creation as Primary Support: Emphasizing that providing a guaranteed market for tech products is more critical than direct financial aid, given the essential, uninterrupted nature of water and electricity services.
• Optimization Opportunities: Targeting water and energy efficiency as a major avenue for tech firms to reduce national subsidy burdens and improve overall sector productivity.

The Deputy Minister concluded that while the water sector faces long-term groundwater deficits, the strategic integration of innovative tech solutions remains essential for sustainable resource management and industry resilience.
