At the Iran International Innovation District (IIID), day two of the 2025 Technology Olympiad’s lightweight combat robot league brought tougher challenges and more thrilling battles, as added weapons and obstacles raised the stakes for competing teams.

Mohammadreza Fallah, secretary of the combat robot section, said the lightweight league began yesterday morning and continues until midday today. Out of 14 scheduled matches in this category, 10 took place today.

The maximum allowed weight for each robot is 32 kg, with dimensions set at 60×60×80 cm. Success depends heavily on technical design, maneuverability, and weapon efficiency.

Fallah noted that the competitive atmosphere intensified from the start, with each stage introducing new obstacles and weapons to test engineering skill and strategy.

Following the conclusion of the lightweight league around midday, a briefing session will be held for the student combat robot league to outline rules, technical points, and scoring methods. The session will be followed by the league’s draw and official matches continuing until evening.
