IIID Venue Hosts International Shotokan Karate Championships
An international Shotokan karate championship bringing together 450 athletes from eight countries was held at the multipurpose hall of Pardis Technology Park, offering young athletes a unique opportunity to experience high-level global competition.
The 20th edition of the Iran Zamin International Shotokan Cup was held in Tehran with the participation of 450 athletes representing eight countries. The competition took place at the multipurpose sports hall of Pardis Technology Park and featured athletes from the internationally recognized WMMF and Shotokan WSKF styles.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, officials highlighted that hosting international tournaments in Iran enables athletes—particularly youth and junior categories—to gain firsthand exposure to global competitive environments without the financial burden of traveling abroad.
The event was also described as a valuable educational and motivational platform for young athletes, helping them become familiar with international standards, technical levels, and the professional atmosphere of global sporting competitions.
Organizers emphasized that such international events contribute to raising athletes’ technical skills, strengthening professional sports development, increasing youth motivation, and enhancing Iran’s presence in the global sports arena.
