A key technology diplomacy meeting between Iran and Russia took place on the sidelines of INOTEX 2025, with Russia expressing readiness for tech collaboration with Iran.
    
On May 1, 2025, during the final day of the INOTEX 2025 exhibition in Tehran, a significant technology diplomacy meeting between Iran and Russia was held. Mehdi Safari-Nia, President of Pardis Technology Park, highlighted the event as a testament to both nations’ commitment to enhancing technological cooperation. He noted that the International Innovation Zone of Iran aims to foster global tech partnerships, with Russia being the first key collaborator.

Safari-Nia announced preparations for hosting Russian tech companies and university branches, including a collaboration with Iran University of Science and Technology to establish a branch of Moscow State University. He also expressed readiness to host Russian technology parks and joint offices for agreements like BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Andrey Fursenko, Special Assistant to the Russian President for Science and Technology, praised the exhibition, expressing amazement at the enthusiasm of Iranian companies to showcase their achievements. He emphasized the need to remove barriers to tech collaboration and develop unique innovations that set global benchmarks. A memorandum of understanding was signed between Iran’s National Association of Advanced Industries and Knowledge-Based Companies and Russia’s Technological Sovereignty Exports Association, focusing on establishing joint tech zones and advancing cooperation.
