Iranian company indigenizes screw pile foundation technology

The screw pile foundation company based in Azadi Innovation Factory has produced "pie" which is a type of screw foundation made of metal.

This type of foundation consists of a tubular shaft with one or more metal helical plates that transmit the tensile or compressive force of the construction to the ground through the shaft and the helical plates.

“Pie” Screw Pile Foundation Company has joined Azadi Innovation Factory two years ago and started its activities by importing this technology to the country.

Screw pile foundation is designed, manufactured and applicable for the implementation of various constructions. This method is fast, simple, nature-friendly, cost-effective and a suitable alternative to concrete foundations.

The Chief Executive Officer of “Pie” Screw Pile Foundation Company Behnam Bidar said that the technology is known as “Helical Pile” in the world, adding that countries such as the United States and Germany have special instructions and regulations for this type of foundation and have been active in this field for many years.

This foundation is in the form of screws, made of steel with galvanized coating and has various applications in the fields of construction, villa construction, greenhouses, as well as in making energy production equipment such as solar panels, power transmission towers, etc.

He added that five main staff members and 10 -15 executives are cooperating with this knowledge-based company.

He referred to commercial release of three products with 12 different applications, saying that these products are used in constructions and any type of structure that needs a foundation.

Pointing to the presence of this knowledgeable company in Azadi Innovation Factory, Bidar said: "Using the financial resources provided in the factory on the one hand and the factory workshops on the other hand has played an effective role in the startup’s growth."

Emphasizing the importance of indigenizing this technology and its cost-effectiveness compared with similar samples, he said: “The executive bodies, as the most important consumers of this type of foundation, should pave the way for supporting knowledge-based companies by updating their rules and instructions, aiming to back these companies and to prevent capital outflow.”
