BASAM (Bartarsazan Sanaye Electronic Majid), a knowledge-based company located at the Elite Technology Development Center of the Iran International Innovation District (IIID), has successfully designed and manufactured Iran’s first indigenous AI processing hardware. This innovative product serves as a domestic alternative to foreign models, capable of executing heavy processing algorithms for images, video, and robotics.

The new AI hardware technology addresses a critical need across various industries, including telecommunications, IT, and robotics.

Majid Pazireh, CEO of BASAM, highlighted the hardware’s features, stating, “With a processing power of at least 20 billion operations per second, this product is built on Xilinx UltraScale and AMD platforms. It is ideal for AI systems requiring real-time processing, particularly in robotics, civil defense, telecommunications, medical, and security sectors.”

He added that the hardware is specifically designed for industrial settings where bulky servers are not feasible, aiming to meet domestic market demands while minimizing reliance on imported equipment.

Pazireh noted that marketing and project acquisition remain key challenges. “We are trying to expand our customer base in cooperation with the IIID’s Incubator Center,” he said. “As our company’s focus is on technical aspects, the Incubator Center can play a significant role in our market development.”

The company has also announced its readiness to develop indigenous AI servers if it receives investment support from public or private entities, a move that could be a major step toward national technological self-sufficiency. BASAM, which became a knowledge-based enterprise three years ago, expanded its operations at the IIID’s Elite Technology Development Center last year.
