Iran’s Health Minister Calls for Increased Medical Equipment Exports at Iran Health 2025

Tehran, Iran - Iran’s Minister of Health emphasized the need to expand exports of medical equipment, highlighting global demand for Iranian health products during the Iran Health Exhibition 2025.

On June 7, 2025, during the opening ceremony of the 26th Iran Health Exhibition at the Tehran International Exhibition Center, Dr. Mohammadreza Zafarghandi, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, underscored the growing international interest in Iranian health products. He noted that many regional and beyond-regional countries are eager to acquire these products, reflecting Iran’s significant achievements in the sector.

Dr. Zafarghandi stressed the importance of advancing innovation and quality simultaneously to compete in global markets. “Our duty is to support high-quality domestic production, and we encourage hospitals to utilize these products,” he said. He also announced dedicated rial and foreign currency budgets to support the purchase of Iranian equipment, urging producers to collaborate in meeting domestic market needs.

Highlighting the exhibition’s scale, he remarked that the participation of 580 companies is not just a number but a testament to Iran’s capacity, progress, and development in medical equipment. He recalled past challenges, such as the lack of even imported ultrasound machines in Iran, and praised the current ability to produce many such devices domestically.

In closing, the minister emphasized that production in health serves a dual purpose of enhancing public well-being and achieving economic gains, with the primary goal being the improvement of people’s health. The exhibition, hosting 580 domestic and international companies across 12 halls, continues until June 10, 2025.
