Omega 3 With Greater Effectiveness and Without Gastrointestinal Diseases Produced in Iran

Sana Pharmed Company, a member of Iran International Innovation District has produced omega-3 food supplement with enteric coating technology and made the soft gel more resistant to stomach acid and its absorption in the intestine, helping to increase its effectiveness and prevent the side effects caused by its absorption in the stomach.

Sana Pharmed Company was established in 1398 with the aim of producing new pharmaceutical products in Azadi Innovation Factory (branch of Iran International Innovation District).

One of the company’s products, which was unveiled at Pardis Technology Park annual summit, is the "Smart Omega”, which is produced with enteric coating technology.

Elaborating on the characteristics of the product, CEO of Sana Pharmed Company Saman Pourzia said that Smart Omega softgels are resistant to the acidic conditions and release their contents in the intestine.

Therefore, the bad smell caused by fish oil will not be felt by the customer, he added.

Making softgels resistant to acid is a very complicated process that had been available only in Europe and the US.

Smart Omega was produced in this way for the first time in the country and its research and development process cost 15 billion Rials, he stated.

Improving cardiovascular health and reducing the risk of heart diseases, helping the growth of fetal brain cells during pregnancy, reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety, improving sleep quality, helping skin and hair health, reducing symptoms of premenstrual syndrome in women, helping to treat lack of concentration are among usages of this product, he said.
