On September 16, 2026, Mehdi Safarinia, President of Pardis Technology Park (PTP), met with executives from Mobarakeh Steel Company to explore tech collaborations, aiming to integrate startups from the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) into the steel industry's supply chain.

During the meeting at Mobarakeh Steel Company, officials discussed pathways to align the research and development capabilities of knowledge-based firms with the operational needs of large-scale industries. According to the IIID Public Relations Office, the dialogue centered on transitioning from fragmented technology procurement to structured technology transfer and ownership.

Key strategic objectives and operational details highlighted include:

  • Industry-Academia Integration: Enabling tech companies to observe industrial processes firsthand, allowing them to tailor their R&D and product development to actual market demands.
  • Structured Technology Transfer: Mobarakeh Steel aims to move beyond purchasing isolated technologies, focusing instead on developing, internalizing, and owning structured technical knowledge through R&D partnerships.
  • Leveraging National and Global Networks: Utilizing the Iran National Techmart and the scientific networks of the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation to facilitate sustainable, long-term collaborations.
  • Participating Tech Firms: Representatives from nine IIID member companies presented their capabilities, including Maharsystem Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Sanabargh Tavan, Vira Control, Zist Piramon Noavaran, Fan-Amoz, Beinab Sanjesh Damavand, Arad Materials and Energy, Control Pouyan, and Aria Vakav.

Safarinia noted that several products developed by these firms are already operational in other industrial sectors and possess direct applicability to steel manufacturing, while others can be customized to meet specific industry requirements.
