At INOTEX 2025, held on April 30, 2025, Hojjat Raeisi, Head of the IT Organization of Shiraz Municipality, expressed readiness to collaborate with knowledge-based companies on technological solutions to tackle urban problems like micro-payments and environmental monitoring.

During the second day of INOTEX 2025 at Seraj Hall, Hojjat Raeisi, Head of the IT Organization of Shiraz Municipality, spoke at the third National Mulla Sadra Event on digital transformation and AI needs. He highlighted a pressing daily challenge for citizens in major cities: micro-payments for buses, subways, taxis, and tourist site visits.

Raeisi noted that a unified model for Automated Fare Collection (AFC) in urban areas has yet to be achieved. He emphasized the urgent need to streamline micro-payments across all major cities. Shiraz Municipality has previously developed a ticket card system implemented in several cities, and now seeks technologists to address this technological gap, welcoming innovative solutions.

He added that such projects are not unfamiliar globally and are feasible in Iran with the right communication infrastructure in place. Raeisi also recalled that Shiraz was named the Environmental Capital of Asian Cities in 2024, largely due to its historic gardens. However, these gardens are currently under threat of destruction and misuse.

He pointed out that some companies at INOTEX have successfully used satellite imagery to monitor such issues. Shiraz, along with many other cities, needs tools to track daily changes in properties, gardens, and streets, as well as to manage fines for tree cutting, wall construction, and building activities. Raeisi affirmed that Shiraz Municipality is eager to support proposals from knowledge-based companies that leverage AI technology to address these challenges.
