The opening ceremony of the 5th Technology Investment Meeting (TIM2023) was held in the presence of the Secretary General of the D8, Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy, deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy, President of Pardis Technology Park and technologists from different countries.

 

In this meeting, contracts worth 15 million dollars will be signed in the fields of information and information technology, medical industries, new energies, etc.

 

Addressing the event, D-8 Secretary General Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam said that D8 members can have extensive cooperation through convergence and synergy.

In the previous meetings of the team, we had agreements about extensive cooperation, the follow-up and implementation of which can help develop technology, he added.

He urged the D8 member states to cooperate in the fields of information technology, agriculture and tourism in Iran and other member countries, aiming to pave the way for these countries’ growth.

Meanwhile, Vice President for science, technology and knowledge-based economy Roohollah Dehqani Firoozabadi Referred to the high capacity of the D8 member states, saying that having one-eighth of the world's population and 60% of the Muslim population, along with special opportunities such as connection with the sea, mines, energy, capable human resources, the education and research market, and the consumption of innovation, is a special position for these countries.

TIM2023 is of interest and importance, and the development of international cooperation is on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he added.

Creating a trans-country with great economic opportunities and a wide market with cultural and intellectual affinities and human and territorial opportunities by the D8 countries can help develop these countries, he stated.

He also stressed creating large technology companies and beyond small startups, as well as establishing several global brands in global development.

He urged the D8 member states to promote their mission by developing cooperation and creating joint funds.

President of Pardis Technology Park Mahdi Saffari Nia pointed to the presence of about one hundred Iranian and foreign startups from Malaysia and Turkey in this event.

One of the goals of the fifth round of the TIM is to implement last year's resolution of this event to create an investment fund, and we are trying to implement this goal in the near future. and witness funding for technological cooperation between the D-8 member states.

In the meantime, Mehdi Safari, the deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy said that economic growth can be achieved by investing in technology.

Today, Iran has achieved foreign exchange income by exporting technological products that were previously invested in, he stated.

Secretary of TIM2023 Milad Sadr Khanlou said: In addition to the D8 member states, other Islamic countries and non-Islamic countries interested in investing in Islamic countries attended the event.

Referring to the presence of 20 groups of foreign investors in this round of the event, he said that these groups are from Turkey, Malaysia, Russia, Armenia, Guinea, Afghanistan and China.

He added that foreign startups from Malaysia and Turkey and 90 domestic startups will present their achievements in this event.

Also, 44 ​​groups of domestic investors are also present in this event, he noted.

The most significant contract will be signed by Iran and Turkey in the field of knowledge transfer and production of pharmaceutical products worth 2.6 million dollars.
