At the Iran International Innovation District (IIID), the second Technology Olympiad has gathered over 12,000 participants — twice as many as the inaugural event — showcasing top talents across six technology fields and welcoming representatives from 16 countries to boost international cooperation and innovation.

Mojtaba Jabbaripour, Vice President for Innovation Development at Pardis Technology Park, said the event’s national and international scope is reflected in the presence of participants from across Iran and multiple countries.

Designed in the spirit of Olympic competition but focused on technological skills, the Olympiad aims to identify and nurture the nation’s best innovators, integrating them into Iran’s technology and innovation ecosystem and connecting them to leading companies and industries to accelerate advancement.

He emphasized the strategic potential of the Olympiad to position Iran as a regional and potentially global technology leader, providing a platform for collaboration between domestic and international talent to elevate the country’s technical capacity.

Recalling the first edition, Jabbaripour noted that over 6,000 competitors engaged in five technology fields. This year’s expanded program added a sixth field, now covering programming, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, drones, the Internet of Things, and combat robots.

International participation has surged, with over 1,000 registrants from 60 countries, and 16 nations represented in the finals. The event is expected to strengthen Iran’s technological brand globally and offer a benchmark for Iranian talent at the international level.

Jabbaripour described the Olympiad as more than a competition, calling it a pathway to developing and elevating human capital nationally and internationally. He also announced two side forums — Civil Defense Managers and Human Capital Managers — to connect identified talents with senior HR leadership in key sectors.
