The 18th science Café, a scientific, promotional event held by Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation, was held for three days, focusing on familiarizing the audience with some of the applications of physics and chemistry in the everyday life.

A series of Science Cafes entitled “Science experiments up close” were held in the Main Campus of Tehran University. During this series, various scientific experiments were carried out in an interactive way, using a problem-solving approach; then, each scientific process was explained by the promoters.

On the one hand, these experiments explored topics in physics such as air pressure, the center of gravity, and Tesla coil, and on the other hand, they introduced and analyzed important chemical reactions that take place with hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, etc. There were also experiments that lead to the creation of carbon dioxide, sodium carbonate, etc.

These science cafés were the first among a series of Mustafa Prize Science Cafés addressing interactive experiments. Taking an approach of popularizing science, Science Café tries to make science accessible to everyone in public environments with friendly and discussion-oriented language and under the supervision of one or more science promoters. These events have been held in different cities since 2021.
