[May 26, 2025] - In an exclusive report, CNN delves into the innovative landscape of Iran at Pardis Technology Park (PTP), located near Tehran. Hosting over 400 companies—from large industrial firms to small startups—PTP stands as a testament to Iran’s push for self-reliance under international sanctions.

The report highlights Zist Takhmir, a leading pharmaceutical company at PTP, known for producing anti-cancer drugs and large-scale probiotics. A lab manager emphasized their commitment to safety and modernity in production processes.

Amin Reza Khaleghian, International Affairs Manager at PTP, told CNN that while sanctions are undesirable, they have spurred local innovation. “Before sanctions, we imported many products. Now, we produce them domestically, and many bear the ‘Made in Iran’ label as a positive outcome,” he said.

The medical sector reflects this trend vividly. With challenges in international payments due to sanctions, Iran now produces 85 percent of the equipment needed for new hospitals domestically. Mohammad Reza Kampani Saeed, CEO of Premiere Electromedical Care (PEC) Company, noted that around 10,000 hospital beds are manufactured annually to meet national demand.

Meanwhile, Iranians closely follow nuclear negotiations, hoping for an end to the U.S. maximum pressure sanctions. Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi acknowledged the complexity of talks but viewed the current logical path as progress.
