Final Day of 2025 Technology Olympiad Introduces Four New High-Level IoT Challenges

Tehran, Iran – The Internet of Things (IoT) competition at the 2025 Technology Olympiad concluded its final day on October 29, unveiling four advanced challenges focused on data transmission under interference, real-time communication, secure remote firmware updates, and malware detection.

According to event organizers, the new challenges were designed to be significantly more technical and difficult than previous rounds, pushing teams to demonstrate real-world problem-solving skills in critical IoT applications.

The first challenge tasked participants with transmitting data over LoRa networks in the presence of noise and interference, requiring maximum speed and accuracy while maintaining stability. The second involved real-time transmission of accelerometer data over a low-bandwidth, unreliable network, with systems required to automatically recover from disconnections and resume data flow to maintain integrity.

The third challenge centered on secure remote firmware updates combined with malware detection, compelling teams to design systems capable of identifying attacks and preventing malicious code injection during software updates—a core concern for connected devices.

Organizers stressed that these scenarios mirror real industry demands, where sectors such as telecommunications, manufacturing, and industrial automation often face bandwidth limitations, connectivity instability, and cybersecurity threats. The competition sought to inspire innovative, locally developed IoT solutions that combine operational efficiency with robust security.
