The 14th Annual Ceremony to Honor Technology Veterans and Top Technologists of the Iran International Innovation District (IIID) was held at Pardis Technology Park (PTP). The event aims to celebrate the key players in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, coinciding with the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution's victory. Body: During the ceremony, Farajollah Kiani and Shahab Javanmardi were recognized as the top veterans, while Sina Nejabat, Mohammad Hossein Moazzezian, and Reza Shalbaf were honored as the district's top three technologists of the year. The event celebrated figures who have played a crucial role in developing strategic technologies and enhancing the country's scientific and industrial capabilities by relying on indigenous knowledge, technological innovation, and sustained effort. Veteran Honorees Farajollah Kiani Boroujeni, a graduate of the University of Tehran with a master's degree in mining engineering, was named a top veteran for 2026. As the CEO of Kian Madan Pars, one of the IIID member companies, he has been instrumental in reducing technological dependencies in the mining and mineral industries by indigenizing specialized services. Shahab Javanmardi, CEO and board member of Fanap Company and Vice President of the Tehran Chamber of Commerce, was also selected as a top veteran. He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from the University of Bordeaux, France, and is a member of the national headquarters for AI development and applications. Top Technologists In the top technologists category, Sina Nejabat was recognized for his role in the development and production of Hepatitis B, human rotavirus, and human rabies vaccines. He holds a PhD in Nanobiotechnology from Tarbiat Modares University. Mohammad Hossein Moazzezian, who holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University of Oulu, Finland, and manages Fanap's Advanced Technology Laboratory, was cited for his direct impact on the development of over 12 products and the launch of more than 10 specialized systems and platforms. Reza Shalbaf, another top technologist, has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology and completed his post-doctoral research at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. He was honored for managing over 26 research projects, registering international patents, and being named a top R&D manager by the Ministry of Industry. Event Highlights A key part of the event was the unveiling of a new heating kit for border guard uniforms, developed by Royay-e Tose'eh Paydar, an IIID member company. An agreement was signed to equip 2,000 border guard uniforms with this technology. Half of these kits are being donated by the IIID, and the other half by the company itself. Sardar Jalal Setareh, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, attended this unveiling. The ceremony also honored Haj Akbar Ebrahimi, a philanthropist who has donated land in Damavand for the construction of the third branch of Pardis Technology Park, developed in collaboration with the IIID. The 14th edition of this event symbolizes the emphasis on human capital, honoring experience, and respecting the country's scientific and technological elites, aiming to strengthen the innovation ecosystem and inspire future generations.
