Tehran, Iran - The Chairman of the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter stressed that retaining elites demands real support through purchasing their innovations, speaking at the Iran Health Exhibition 2025.

On June 7, 2025, during the opening ceremony of the 26th Iran Health Exhibition at the Tehran International Exhibition Center, Abdolreza Yaghoubzadeh, Chairman of the Iranian Syndicate of Medical Equipment Exporter, highlighted the urgent need for tangible support for elites in the health sector. He emphasized that retaining talent cannot be achieved through slogans alone; it requires actual investment in their achievements. Many industry activists, he noted, have sold personal assets like homes to develop indigenized products, and without buyers, these efforts risk being unsustainable.

Yaghoubzadeh pointed out the sacrifices of small companies, often mortgaging homes to fund production and showcase products at exhibitions. He urged officials, including the Minister of Health or at least deputies, to visit these booths to boost morale and shift some focus from pharmaceuticals to medical equipment. He praised the high technological level of some locally produced devices, competitive with foreign counterparts, but warned that sustaining such innovation demands continuous research and consistent support.

Describing production as a battlefield rather than mere competition, he stressed that falling behind means being left behind. He criticized the slow pace of government purchases, noting that the Ministry of Health’s procurement is currently stalled, leaving elites under pressure and at risk of migration if foreign opportunities seem more attractive. Yaghoubzadeh called for immediate financial support and purchases of their innovations, drawing a parallel to the military industry’s success through investment. He underscored the aging population’s growing need for hospital beds and updated equipment, urging that medical equipment could become another national pride if supported. The exhibition continues until June 10, 2025.
